Community Events

August 29, 11 a.m.–4 p.m. | Free

Join us from 11 am to 4 pm at Remedy Brewing Company (401 E 8th St Suite #120 in Downtown Sioux Falls) for a day of kittens, great food and drink and more. We will have kittens and cats for adoption to meet from Sioux Empire TNR as well as from the Sioux Falls Area Humane Society. We will also have a selection of vendors to shop with, a DJ spinning fun summer tunes and a raffle to raise funds for Sioux Empire TNR’s programs for feline welfare. Event is family-friendly, outdoors and free to the public.

About the Festival:
Mitákuye Oyás’iŋ All My Relatives Festival is an annual music, art, & fashion festival hosted by Levitt at the Falls in partnership with the Wokini Initiative at South Dakota State University. This year’s festival is honored to be selected by the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage for Of the People: The Smithsonian Festival of Festivals—a series of co-curated programs and exchanges that showcase the nation’s cultural landscape.

Always wanted to learn how to crochet? This beginner-friendly workshop is the perfect place to start!

Join us as we learn the basics of crochet, including how to hold your hook and yarn, create foundational stitches, and begin building the confidence to continue crocheting on your own. Whether you’ve never picked up a crochet hook or you’re ready to try again, this class is designed with beginners in mind.

Sunday, August 30 4:00–6:00 PM

Choose the registration option that works best for you:

• Bring Your Own Supplies – Bring one skein of worsted weight (#4) acrylic yarn and a crochet hook that matches the yarn label (typically 4.5 mm–5.5 mm).

• Supplies Included – We’ll provide everything you need to get started.

All skill levels are welcome, but instruction is geared toward beginners.

Pre-registration is required so we can prepare enough supplies for everyone. If you experience any issues with online registration, please contact AMC Collective and we’ll be happy to help.

Come and enjoy a day on the golf course to help the Sioux Valley Optimist Club raise funds for our ongoing support of local youth programs! Unique to other golf events, the tournament features special games on select holes and various prize holes to keep players on their toes!

Whether you are seasoned golfer or get out only a couple of times per year, all are welcome here and sure to have a great time ‘”Golfing for the Kids!”

SoDak Circuit is South Dakota’s first FREE esports event for all ages, powered by 17-member broadband companies and SDN Communications. Held at the Sioux Falls Convention Center on September 12, it features popular video games, prizes, live competition and a welcoming space for gamers of all levels and ages!

USD Center for Disabilities is excited for our Run Walk & Roll event to return for its 5th year on Saturday, September 12th, 2026! Run Walk & Roll is an inclusive event open to people of all ages and abilities. Our goal is to promote health and wellness for all people in South Dakota, and to have fun while doing it! Events include a timed 5k and a 1-mile FREE fun run, walk & roll. There will be yoga in the park, a mascot race, a food truck, and more! You won’t want to miss this event!

Our 2026 event will spotlight the critical role early childhood development plays in shaping lifelong health, learning, and well-being. By bringing together families, professionals, and community members, this inclusive event raises awareness that every child develops differently and emphasizes the importance of early identification, intervention, and support for developmental needs.

8:00a – race day packet pick-up and yoga/stretching session

9:00a – 5k race start

9:45a – yoga/stretching session

10:00a – mascot race to kick off the 1-mile fun run, walk & roll start

12:00p – Event end

****We are making accommodations available for individuals with disabilities. The Prairie Striders Running Club out of Brookings, SD has graciously agreed to loan their racing chair for the event. Additionally, we can make accommodations for those with low vision or blindness.
