The SDSU Ness School of Management and Economics and SDSU Extension will host an economic briefing on September 24 from 8:00 to 9:15 a.m. at Startup Sioux Falls in the MarketBeat Theatre (100 E 6th Street, Sioux Falls, SD 57104).

Join the SDSU Ness School for a moderated discussion alongside regional industry leaders, connecting national and global economic trends to their implications for the metro area and upper Midwest region. This briefing convenes business and civic leaders in the Sioux Falls Metro for a working breakfast and a disciplined examination of the economic forces shaping metro business.

The Ness School Economic Briefing is how the region’s senior leaders – and those who intend to be – begin their day.

The briefing is open to the public. The discussion is on the record.

Join us on Thursday, September 24, from 11:00 AM to 1:30 PM at Heritage Park in downtown Sioux Falls for Save A Life Day, a community event focused on support, care, and hope.

Emily’s Hope will be handing out free naloxone, a life-saving medication that can reverse opioid overdoses. Community partners will also be on-site offering a free meal, basic needs items, lightly used clothing, and connections to local resources and support services.

This event is free and open to everyone. Together, we can save lives, support one another, and strengthen our community.

TP Roll Butterflies – Drop-In Craft
Create 2 colorful butterflies using painted toilet paper rolls and pipe cleaners. Guests can design simple or detailed butterfly patterns and choose to turn them into magnets or hanging decorations.

Drop in September 23–27 to make your own Wood Scarecrow!

Start by painting a wood block, then add a burlap hat, raffia, ribbon, and your own finishing touches. We’ll have a variety of burlap and ribbon colors available so every scarecrow can have its own personality.

And don’t worry about getting that scarecrow face “just right” — we’ll have stencils available to help! 😊

We have FOUR drop-in crafts available all month long at AMC Collective:

🌽 Beaded Corn Cob — Follow a pattern using pipe cleaners and colorful pony beads. Choose our fall bead mix or create your own color combination!

🎃 3D Wood Filigree Pumpkin — Choose from three pumpkin and gourd designs, add your own colors, and assemble the pieces into a freestanding 3D decoration.

☀️ Fall Suncatcher — A fan favorite is back! Choose a design, paint your suncatcher, and add beads to the hanging string.

🦔 Pinecone Hedgehog — Use felt, googly eyes, pom-poms, and more to turn a pinecone into an adorable little hedgehog, complete with a tiny sign!

Come make one or make your way through all four during September!
