The Alzheimer’s Association is inviting Sioux Falls area residents to join the fight to end Alzheimer’s by participating in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s® on Saturday, September 28 at 10:00 a.m. at the Levitt at the Falls.
This is a pivotal moment in the fight against Alzheimer’s. There are now treatments being delivered right here in South Dakota that can change the course of the disease. Join us by starting a Walk to End Alzheimer’s team to help raise awareness and funds that help South Dakota families facing the disease today, take more steps toward treatments, and one day end this disease.
The event begins with an opening ceremony at 10 a.m. on the Levitt stage. Walk to End Alzheimer’s participants honor those affected by the disease by carrying a pinwheel flower signifying their connection to the disease. Those living with Alzheimer’s or another dementia will carry a blue flower, while caregivers hold a yellow flower. Walkers who have lost someone to Alzheimer’s or another dementia carry a purple flower and those who support the cause hold an orange flower.
Following the opening ceremony, participants will take a leisurely walk through downtown Sioux Falls. The event also includes a Kids Zone and vendor area.
