Connect with Sioux Falls area farmers growing fruit, vegetable, flowers and other specialty crops at the upcoming ‘Farmer Meet & Greet’. The free event will help consumers identify area producers and a food hub to learn about their products and services.
Attendees can visit with 605 Petals & Pines, Blue Sky Vegetable Co., Country Apple Orchard, Quiet Water Farm, The Specialty Crop, Tilford Rye, and other area farmers during the event to learn about what they sell, product availability, growing practices and more.
Sign up for a CSA, a Community Support Ag program, where you can receive a box of in-season produce weekly over the growing season. Learn about Dakota Fresh Food Hub, which offers weekly ordering of a wide range of producers’ products on a one-stop shopping website. Discover on-farm events and workshops that will occur this season.
Attendees are invited to participate in ‘Farmer Bingo.’ After visiting with a variety of the farmers, participants are entered to win giveaways of local products & a workshop.
The event is sponsored by the S.D. Specialty Producers Association through the Specialty Crop Block Grant program overseen by the S.D. Dept. of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
